Many families seek an evaluation feeling unsure where to begin. Concerns related to learning, attention, emotions, behavior, and development often overlap and do not fit neatly into a single category.
Dr. Hampton provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for children and adolescents to help families make sense of complex concerns. His approach emphasizes understanding what is driving a child’s challenges, how strengths and vulnerabilities fit together, and what supports will be most helpful moving forward.
Dr. Hampton’s evaluation process is individualized, thorough, and collaborative. Rather than starting with a single assumption, he takes a comprehensive approach that examines patterns across cognitive, academic, emotional, behavioral, and developmental domains. This allows for a nuanced understanding of how different factors interact in a child’s daily life at home, at school, and in social settings.
This whole-child approach supports recommendations that are targeted, practical, and directly applicable to educational planning, treatment decisions, and family support. To promote timely intervention, all evaluation appointments (intake, testing, and feedback) are scheduled together, and the written report is completed by the feedback session so findings can be reviewed in real time and recommendations can be implemented without delay.
Families leave the evaluation process with a clearer understanding of their child and a confident path forward.
Dr. Hampton works with children and adolescents presenting with concerns related to:
- Learning differences and academic challenges
- Attention, focus, and ADHD
- Anxiety, mood concerns, and emotional regulation difficulties
- Autism and social development differences
- Giftedness and twice-exceptionality (2e)
- Complex, overlapping, or unclear developmental concerns
Many families pursue an evaluation not because they already have a diagnosis in mind, but because concerns feel multifaceted or difficult to untangle.
Dr. Hampton is a licensed clinical psychologist and professional member of the American Psychological Association. He received advanced training in child and adolescent psychological assessment at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and Baylor Scott & White Health, affiliated with Texas A&M School of Medicine.
