Tana Carpita is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years’ experience in the mental health field. Tana earned her bachelor’s degree at Whitman College followed by a Master of Social Work degree at University of Washington in 1994. Having practiced primarily in community mental health and crisis services, including the emergency room, she is skilled at working with diverse populations across a spectrum of issues.
Tana provides therapy to individuals – children, adolescents and adults- as well as families. With a focus on treating patients with anxiety and depression, Tana integrates therapeutic tools/modalities such as CBT, DBT and Mindfulness. She believes the person in environment perspective is an important component of developing treatment plans, and intervention, and likes to include parents and family when appropriate. Believing that change is a constant in life, Tana helps clients channel change in a positive direction, and then uses a strength based framework to guide building a foundation of coping skills that enables clients to be their most functional. Tana is passionate about helping clients believe in their value and enjoy life.
